If you've made it to this page you're probably wondering what we're all about and who we are. Back in 2007, we opened a little boutique in Newtown specialising in handmade jewellery, accessories and art. Our boutique has evolved into one of Newtown's treasures, and we've grown our range to include all manners of designer goodies from all over the world. Our range has expanded to include homewares, gifts, fashion watches, clothing and mens jewellery.
Where does the name "Mink Schmink" come from?
Our store is actually named after an old Eartha Kitt song by the same name. It's a fun little ditty about how you have nothing in life unless you have love. And no one can sing it the way Eartha Kitt did. That was one classy dame.
Where does all this funky range come from?
We've been hunting the cool and the unique long enough to know that people want something a little different to what you find in the shopping centres and chain stores. This means that our range comes from wherever our search takes us. So far, we've discovered designs from as far as the UK, Denmark, France, USA and Brazil.
We're also proud to be supporting Aussies too, with lots of our jewellery coming from fellow Aussie designers and of course, our own original jewellery designs made in our Newtown Studio.
What makes us different?
Hmmm, good question. Well, for starters, we do the buying ourselves, so everything is scrutinised for design, quality and value. So if it isn't good enough, it doesn't make it to the store. And unlike a lot of other stores, we pass on savings to our customers, so if we source it at a great price, you save $$.
You'll probably notice that our range is more on the fun side than the boring side. There's a reason for that too - we think life should be more fun and people should enjoy every day, so why not have fun things in your life? That's why we put everything to a "smile test" to make sure it makes you happy. If you're after a run-of-the-mill gift or piece of jewellery, you won't find it here.
